Abstract :
This paper analyzes output impedance matching concepts in RF and microwave frequency multipliers and power amplifiers. Classical techniques for developing an optimum load at the desired output harmonic are explored. Harmonic balance analysis of an idealized device model is utilized to examine these classical methods. Harmonic balance analysis is also utilized to explore the effects of non-ideal loads on the desired amplifier/multiplier harmonic output.
