Abstract :
A compensation method for non-ideal performance of the system using STRETCH processing (or full-deramp), and for modulation nonlinearity of LFM signal is presented. An analysis is developed to show that the effect caused by the non-ideal performance of the system on the signal output is time-invariant, and the effect caused by the nonlinearity of LFM signal on the output is time-variant. A series of simulation results demonstrate the efficiency of the method. Under some conditions, the sidelobe level as high as -5.76 dB may be reduced to -41 dB. If the tolerable sidelobe level is -30 dB, the target size may be extended to 120 m
