Abstract :
Summary form only given. The conjugated and conducting polymer systems developed at the university have electronic and optical properties which can be tailored to suit specific applications. The electrical conductivity can be varied almost ten orders of magnitude and the dielectric constant can be varied by an order of magnitude. Diodes, light emitting diodes and field effect transistors on flexible polymer substrates using such materials have been reported in literature. In addition, a number of different polymeric materials for waveguide electro-opticai modulation and optical recording media have been developed
