Abstract :
Recognizing the Government´s desire to reduce cost of acquisition, Honeywell embarked on a program in 1990 to leverage Intel´s Touchstone commercial high performance parallel processor to provide a militarized high performance computer with programmability features and scaleability to many different DoD applications. Under a Defense Advanced Research Projects Office (DARPA) contract, we are developing a prototype nine-node processor to demonstrate 5.4 GFLOPS in a 0.5 ft3 chassis. Software is identical to its commercial ParagonTM counterpart. Demonstration will occur in early 1994
