Abstract
This paper investigates the direction of arrival (DOA) estimation using array antenna with large inter-element spacing. The estimation technique is based on the multiple signal classification (MUSIC) algorithm. Since the inter-element spacing is larger than signal wavelength, there are multiple peaks in the MUSIC spectrum. By partitioning the non-uniformly spaced array into proper subsets, the peaks of the MUSIC spectrums will differ per subset. The signal´s DOA can be determined by the common peak of the different subsets. The effect of signal to noise ratio (SNR) and integration time are discussed in this paper.
