Abstract :
Graphical data presentation plays a very important role for lots of monitoring applications. Nowadays there are many environments for implementing it like MSChart in Microsoft VB, JFrameChart in Java and Waveform Graphs in LabVIEW. However, they are not always adequate and flexible enough to design powerful software. In this paper an ActiveX component for graphical data display is designed and implemented. Its data model, curve model and other key functions have been illustrated in detail. The component can be applied to multiple monitoring applications for both desktop and web applications. Results show that the component is flexible and reliable. And it shortens the system development cycle remarkably.
