  • Abstract
Small and medium size enterprises (SMEs) require sharing manufacturing information mutually, deploying Web-based commercial applications rapidly and safely to come up with the global economy. Networked manufacturing based application service providers (ASP) is a new Internet buzzword to manufacturing industry. An infrastructure of Internet-based manufacturing business service platform for SMEs is proposed. According to different service-level agreement, manufacturing enterprises can deal with their design, collaboration, and commercial businesses on the platform by renting the corresponding application services. Advantages and key technologies of this platform are analysed in detail for SMEs in manufacturing industry. Finally, a prototype of collaborative design is illustrated to show the efficiency of this platform
