Abstract :
In this paper, single-feed dual-band planar monopole antenna designs, with microstrip feedlines, are proposed and studied. Simple square planar monopole patches are used as the radiation elements. Two planar monopole antennas, with an open square slot for dual-band operation, are introduced. From experimental results, they have a dual-frequency operation with different tunable frequency ratios. Prototype antennas of the two designs have been implemented and experimentally studied. Measured results of the obtained dual-band operation are presented and discussed.
