Abstract :
Parasitic SAR is a new and attractive space-based observation technique. The ASR of parasitic SAR is higher than that of conventional monostatic SAR, which will restrict the choice of Pulse repetition frequency, and further affect the optimizing of the whole system performance. In this paper, using the ambiguous power function as the bistatic geometry, all directions from the whole swath are considered as signal directions and the SANR is defined accordingly. Based on these, a new weighting vector for antenna beam forming is derived and particularities of parasitic SARs are considered. In this way the choice of the PRF is less constrained by the ASR, and therefore its value can be chosen for other requirements such as SNR or data rate.
