Abstract
This paper outlines the case for combining Business Process Management (BPM) and Enterprise Architecture (EA) and defines how to leverage their intrinsic synergies. The synergistic approach to BPM and EA is based on a firm understanding of the lifecycles of the enterprise and the establishment of appropriate collaboration and governance processes. When executed together, BPM provides the business context, understanding, and metrics, and EA provides the discipline to translate business vision and strategy into architectural change. Both are, in fact, needed for sustainable continuous improvement.
