Abstract :
This paper aims to present the importance and necessity of the marketing concept for the coming libraries and also to demonstrate them by showing an application example in the library. Current society is too much complicated for the librarians to exactly capture the patrons´ needs and requirements. The marketing methodology, which consists of collecting and analyzing the data about the library and utilizing the results for improving the patron services, will be and should be the most effective way in such a situation. We take the bookshelf arrangement problem as an example and investigate about what the library marketing is like.
