Abstract :
A dispersion analysis of ADI-FDTD (alternating-direction implicit finite-difference time-domain) and higher order ADI-FDTD methods is presented. Both analytical and numerical dispersion analysis are performed to investigate the accuracy related to the ADI-FDTD schemes. Based on our analysis, a guideline for choosing an appropriate time step size for practical ADI-FDTD applications is provided.
