Abstract
A digital technology hardware and software system implementation is presented to overcome the problem of electromechanical telephonic switching network obsolescence, without having to face the high-costs involved in its full substitution. The basic hardware architecture relies on a proprietary bus, controlled by a 386SX-based processor, with specific distributed I/O processing boards, in a expandable network schematic connection
