  • Abstract
An extended mathematical model of the human cardiovascular system was established for the study of the pulse wave diagnostic method. The model can be used to generate pulse waves at three points along the radical artery on the wrist. Using this model, a number of simulation experiments were performed. The effects of hemodynamic parameters upon the pulse wave are investigated. Results suggest that using modeling and simulation methods to study the pulse wave is possible, and the model established in this work provides a useful tool for pulse wave analysis
