Abstract :
Progress towards a current mode solution to the problem of decoding wedge and strip particle detectors is presented. Operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division are more readily achieved with signal currents. The major advantage offered by this technique is that wide-bandwidth signals of many hundreds of MHz can be readily accommodated. A novel current amplifier, fabricated as a BiCMOS integrated circuit is also described
