Abstract :
The paper presents a novel smart modulated passive filter (SMPF) for single phase and three phase, residential, commercial and industrial type loads. The smart filter ensures efficient energy utilization and enhanced supply power quality when feeding nonlinear and arc type cyclical loads. The control scheme utilizes a novel dynamic current tracking loop to minimize feeder losses and reduce harmonic and ripple content in feeder supply current and associated voltage drop
