Abstract :
This paper sets up a cross-layer protocol optimization model for wireless Ad Hoc networks based on NUM (Network Utility Maximization), and proposes an Optimal Distributed Rate Control Algorithm (ODRCA) under some assumptions to the model. The model and ODRCA support both single-path routing and multi-path routing. The validity and convergence of ODRCA not only are analyses in theory, but also are supported by simulations. The advantages and disadvantages of the ODRCA are discussed, and some extension suggestions are given at last.
