Abstract
This work presents an expert system for the planning of feeders in power distribution networks. The expert system was written in Turbo-Prolog (version 2.0) and aims to help and increase the efficiency of the design sectors of power distribution companies. The inference rules are based on planning strategies that take into account the quality of the power supplied and the lowest investment in infra-structure. The Load Flow program used is based on the Modified Decoupled Load Flow Method. The integration between the expert system and the Load Flow program is managed by the expert system itself, which is also responsible for automatic reconfiguration of feeders. The program PRODIS is user-friendly and allows easy data input of the parameters of the system and also performs error-checking. The resulting design is easily accessible by users. Planning results are presented
