Abstract :
Fixed infrastructure UHF RFID systems, particularly those capable of operating in Dense Reader Mode, impose severe technical challenges on the readers. A cost effective solution capable of solving these difficult problems would greatly accelerate the widespread use for RFID in the supply chain/warehousing application and would lead to many more application areas for the technology. This paper outlines the challenges presented by the system and describes a high performance RF front end designed to address them.
