Abstract :
The deployment is an important step in the construction of wireless sensor networks. In most cases, during the deployment stage, sensors are hoped to be deployed as evenly as possible and the evenness is an important metric of the deployment of a network. We formulate and investigate an Evenness Measurement problem in a three-dimensional continuous space. We present a measurement method with two steps to compare evenness between two deployments. Based on this method, an algorithm to calculate the Evenness is given. We apply the algorithm in a certain probability model to find the weakest points in the wireless sensor networks.
