Abstract :
Recently, tamper-resistant technology has been adopted to design wireless sensor nodes which possess a lifetime-secure memory fraction (namely fingerprint). We propose a reputation-based adaptive key management protocol based on fingerprint-eFKM. In eFKM, any pair of nodes can build a key based on their partners´ reputation by combining raw key elements randomly selected by both nodes from their fingerprints respectively. The scheme can achieve different types of secure communications including opportunistic routing communications. To the best of our knowledge, this paper is the first attempt at the use of both application executable binary code itself and corresponding node reputation to develop a key management protocol. Simulation results show that eFKM is substantially more resilient against node capture and different kinds of attacks while consuming less memory resource and computing re-source compared to the existing key establishment proto-cols.
