Abstract :
A Telemetering Center of Excellence, a Chair of Telemetering, and an educational program in telemetering systems engineering leading to a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering have been established at New Mexico State University in cooperation with the International Foundation for Telemetering, the supporting industry, the government ranges, and NASA. Although one of the primary goals of the program is to graduate MS students who understand the concept of “end-to-end” telemetering system design for test and evaluation, another goal is to incorporate the latest aerospace applications with the attendant test and evaluation technology used in the development stage into the educational process. This paper covers two aspects of the telemetering educational program: (1) specific technological developments which have a substantial impact in the teaching program and (2) the curriculum
