Abstract :
Electromagnetic scattering from random rough surfaces continues to be an important problem due to its broad applications. With the advent of modern computers and development of efficient algorithms, numerical analysis of two-dimensional random rough surfaces, once an intractable 3D scattering problem can now be computed. One major difficulty in performing numerical simulations is that the natural media such as soils and ocean are with large permittivity that requires a large number of sampling points per square wavelength. In our Monte Carlo simulations, we have used on the physics-based two-grid method (PBTG) in conjunction with the sparse matrix canonical grid method (SMCG)
