Abstract
In this paper, we describe simulation of an impedance loaded passive SAW sensor. Coupling of mode theory (COM) is used for the simulation. New model for an impedance-loaded passive SAW sensor is proposed. However, the simulated results do not agree with the experimental results. Validity of the COM parameters is discussed and optimum values are estimated using Brent´s method. Then, the model is applied as a novel identification method for SAW devices using a characteristic of a passive SAW sensor. The simulated results indicate the applicability of the new identification method for SAW sensors.
