Abstract
The authors give a description and preliminary results of a new Real Problem Solving Workshop based on a special Program in Mathematics oriented to Engineering and Architecture freshmen developed at the Universidad Tecnica Federico Santa Maria (UTFSM), Valparaiso, Chile. They detail how emphasis is now being placed on problem solving strategies, using extensively computer resources and numerical and symbolic software packages
