Abstract :
A wireless two layer polling system is considered for monitoring and control of city lifelines in disaster situations. An experiment is under way using a 2 GHz/288 kbps radio system for the upper polling layer. Design and performance characteristics obtained to date of a 2 GHz system are reported in this paper
