Abstract
A new feeding mechanism for planar slot arrays, which does away with a separate feeding waveguide, is investigated. The array is fed at a single point, and a series of 180° bends at the ends of branches are employed to yield a meandering waveguide geometry, yielding a low profile. The design and analysis of a meandering waveguide planar slot array are presented, and the performance of a prototype array is compared to the theory
