  • Abstract
This paper describes the particularities of DFIG-modeling for the static and dynamic simulation of power networks including wind parks using a commercial simulation program system. The theory of the decoupled control of active and reactive power of a DFIG is presented as well as simulation runs using the predefined DFIG-controller. Dynamic and static simulation results for a small wind park with 4 windmills are compared to one equivalent wind turbine with the same power data and the influence of the crow-bar resistance for a given turbine is demonstrated. The last chapter of the article describes a new integrated feature of real-time hardware-in-the-loop tests performed with a real-time communication bridge. This system can be used for real-time test and optimization of existing machine controllers in closed loop mode with a network simulation running on a PC with step widths of typically 1 ms
