Abstract :
Summary form only given. We report a CW doubly-resonant OPO (DRO) based on periodically poled KTiOPO/sub 4/ (PPKTP) designed as a smoothly tunable, single-frequency source operating around 1.65 /spl mu/m for spectroscopic applications. PPKTP is an attractive material for OPOs pumped by CW visible sources where the advantages of high laser damage threshold, low susceptibility to thermal lensing, and operation at room temperature without photorefractive damage, are particularly important. In addition, PPKTP demonstrates a useful degree of temperature tuning (0.73 nm//spl deg/C around 1.65 /spl mu/m).
