This paper presents, as the main contribution, modelling aspects connected to passivity and dissipativity of an energy-based controller for torque tracking of induction motors, conceived in terms of optimal state reference trajectories. The control scheme presented here has been reported in detail elsewhere. It includes a state observer to the minimum energy approach
