Abstract :
The paper develops Power System Stabiliser (PSS) for a synchronous generator equipped with static excitation system such that the PSS produces damping torque component only. The simplicity of the design methodology makes it especially useful for the design of small distributed generators. Good dynamic properties of the plant equipped with the proposed PSS are confirmed by simulation using non-linear, multi-machine model of a power system.
