Abstract :
Discussion of the role of measurement system calibration in fulfilling wider business objectives, together with a description of a mathematical approach to determination of optimal calibration intervals using both a classical linear drift model and also a random stepwise shift model. Also discusses refinements in approach to development and nomination of calibration procedures.
