Abstract
Experimental result of phase noise reduction are presented for microwave oscillators. Both self-injection locking (IL) and self-phase locking (PLL) are combined to provide forced stable oscillation using self-ILPLL (SILPLL) for the first time. Analytical prediction for optimum performance of self-ILPLL is provided reaching unprecedented levels of -148dBc/Hz at 10kHz offset carrier for X-band oscillator.
