  • Abstract
    This paper describes the development of a model for electrified transit systems. The model is developed for the analysis of power quality in a DC tram system. This paper presents a new, more computationally efficient modular approach to modelling electrified transit systems. The technique applied separates the train movement analysis from the electrical network analysis and uses differential equations to simulate the train movement and nodal voltage analysis to evaluate the electrical network.
