Abstract :
The 3D GIS for high-speed rail´s construction schedule needs to visualize the model data such as bridges, piers, roads, tunnels and so on, besides the texture data for example stone texture, metal texture, green belt texture and so forth. The high-speed rail GIS cannot render enormous 3D models in real time. 3D models are loaded slowly and rendered nonfluency. The paper focuses on showing 3D models based on LOD (level of detail), loading models incrementally, sharing the pier models and textures to reduce memory footprint. Because of the winding railway line, bullet train jumps to move ahead and deviates from its normal 3D rail path. We propose a method of how to update the bullet train´s position and direction. The experiment results show that the3D models are rendered in real time and the train runs smoothly and steadily.
