Abstract :
A region-based method to solve the structure and motion problem is presented. Region matchings between images are accomplished by using affine invariants. No feature extraction or segmentation is needed in the matching process. Having recovered the region matches, a closed-form solution for the camera motion and the 3-D structures of the regions can be obtained. The advantage of this approach is that it gives complete structure and motion estimation at low computational cost
