Abstract :
TD-SCDMA, which has been widely used in China, provides better experience for mobile users than GSM did. However, weak coverage remains one of the most important problems in the current network as it used to be in GSM. One way to address the problem is through network optimization. Traditional approaches of network optimization exhaustively search all possible schemes for the optimal solution, which is computationally prohibitive. It is almost impossible to implement such a complex solution in real networks. A more efficient solution is in urgent need. The main contribution of this paper is a low-complexity solution based on genetic algorithm. Simulation results show that the proposed solution achieves better performance with lower cost of time.
