Abstract
In the present work we propose the combined use of wavelets and snakes for a Web-based hair-style simulation system which is principally oriented as a Web service for mobile phones. An improvement over previous systems was obtained by means of using advanced image processing techniques in order to detect facial features. These techniques are based on wavelets and snakes which increase the computational cost of the overall system. Nonetheless, the improvement achieved in the quality of the output made us decide to trade system speed for system quality.
