Abstract
Some of the issues related to the problem of joining-up assembly plans to form composite assembly plans are addressed. Assembly plans are represented using a Petri net model. Several schemes for composing plans while preserving desirable properties of the assembly plans are presented. The schemes include composition via a final transition, via a set of transitions and via set of shared places. In each case the constraints that need to be observed are specified
