Abstract :
This paper presents the study of adaptive distance protection using multi-agent technology. The proposed distance protection system is realized with a layered and distributed structure based on multi-agent technology, and it is capable of performing beyond the traditional function. Intelligent algorithms based on data collected locally or shared with other devices can be processed, and adaptive protection function can be achieved. Simulations are used to illustrate the proposed methods to distance protection function. Preliminary results show that the adaptive distance protection is capable of improving performance of traditional protection system
