Abstract :
The current value of secondary winding in this CIT is 25 kA and since the electromagnetic forces is proportional to square of current, the force calculation to design this CIT is necessary. The purpose of this paper is to present an investigation of forces that appears as a result of 25 kA current. In this paper mechanical force in two directions, inclusive axial and radial components, with finite element method is calculated. The simulation results show that the forces which apply to transformer windings are negligible. Also the stresses on conductor cross section area are negligible. The software that was used is the ANSYS 8.1
