Abstract
Flexible manufacturing system (FMS) is a typical discrete event dynamic systems (DEDS) and Petri-Net has been widely used in the field of modeling a FMS because of its intrinsic features. In this paper, the Petri-net modeling approach is firstly introduced. A model of FMS is created by using Timed Petri nets; the algorithm is discussed based a job needs of FMS with 3 resources and 3 jobs. The analysis results show the constructed model and presented algorithm can solve the designing of scheduling problems of FMS effectively and practically.
