Abstract :
The traveling wave tube (TWT) harmonic Amplifier in terahertz (THAT) proposed in this laboratory is a novel TWT amplifier which can be used for high-power and wide-band THz vacuum radiation sources. One of the key components of THAT is the microwave window. This paper presents design and fabrication of the harmonic output window. The results of the diamond window indicated a transmission loss (S21) below 1.1dB, and VSWR ≤ 1.45 from 175 to 185 GHz. The THAT with the diamond window achieved a maximum saturated harmonic output power of 500mW with conversion gain of 28dB.
