Abstract :
A curved collector for a Q-band gyrotron travelling wave tube (Gyro-TWT) is presented in this paper. The power capacity of the conventional cylindrical collector is seriously limited due to its smaller dissipation area. In order to overcome this drawback, we proposed the curved collector. Simulation results indicate the average dissipated power density of 0.38kW/cm2 is 41% of that in the cylindrical collector, and maximum temperature of inner wall decrease from 227 °C to 142 °C. It shows that curved collector enhance power capability of collector.
