  • Abstract
This paper proposes a new and efficient approach of load flow analysis for UPFC embedded power systems. Main characteristic of the approach is that an equivalent network is obtained easily, according to two basic schemes of UPFC control and it is used for load flow analysis of original system including UPFCs. Then control parameters of each UPFC are determined by the load flow solution. The analysis is carried out with the aid of ETAP package (electrical transient analyzer program). Hence it inherits entire advantages of the conventional techniques in load flow analysis. IEEE 14 and New England 39-bus systems are used to validate the effectiveness of this approach
