Abstract :
Summary form only given. A new concept for efficient Pr:YLF lasers is reported based on all-solid-state set-up. A diode pumped cw Nd:YAG laser emitting on the ground state transition at 946 nm intracavity frequency doubled to 473 nm is used as the pumping source. The blue output exceeds 1 W under optimized conditions.
