  • Abstract
Research of failure prevention and protection of GTO inverters is discussed. The on and off signals for each GTO in the inverter are supplied from the LSI circuit directly and independently. A driving circuit with self-locking is demonstrated, and its characteristics are described in detail. Based on the state identification of the GTO´s anode voltages and currents, an effective preventive method for inverter terminal-shorting is proposed. The simulation results for the overload protection of the GTO inverters are given
