Abstract :
For the development of a long-lived high-stability high-efficiency broadband klystron, a high-perveance hollow electron beam [1] is considered instead of a pencil beam. The simulation results of electron optics system and beam-wave interaction are given using Arsenal-MSU code [2]. The results indicate that in the case of saturated drive and 5.1% relative bandwidth, the klystron can get a peak power of more than 2.5 MW, an efficiency of more than 40%.
