Abstract :
In this paper, a new nonlinear controller based on the equilibrium point analysis for the Japanese standard one-machine system model is proposed. First, the model is formulated by a set of nonlinear differential equations, and stable and unstable equilibrium points for the case of PSS are obtained by the analysis. However, the unstable one can be eliminated, and the excitation current can be rapidly increased by the proposed nonlinear controller. Finally, it is concluded that the numerical control responses and the critical clearing time of the model are fairly enhanced by the controller in comparison with PSS
