Abstract :
In this paper, we present our analytical analyses for the nonlinear dynamical system of the automated heavy-duty vehicles (HDVs) and for its acquisition and tracking processes. A quasi-linear method is used to study the acquisition and tracking process and time scales for the automated HDVs. Parameters such as generalized natural frequency, damping factor, lock time, lock range, pull-in time, pull-in range for the HDVs are given. Those parameters serve as complementary analyses to time and frequency domain functional analysis for HDVs conducted in the previous studies. They provide quick and quantitative metrics for determining the quality and performance for a dynamical HDVs system.
